Members


The Board consists of 15 members, recommended by high school principals (1 member, 1 alternate), appointed by the Mayor for 1-year term commencing in August and ending July 31. At the end of their term, members are given the opportunity to re-apply and remain on the Board through graduation from high school.

Purpose


The Woodbridge Township Youth Advisory Board is committed to provide opportunities that will foster civic engagement, leadership, responsibility and pride among the community's youth. The mission of the Woodbridge Township Youth recreation Advisory Board is to address the recreational and social needs of the township's youth by evaluating existing programs, identifying and recommending new programs and publicizing programs and events.

Events


Due to student scheduling conflicts, the board has 1 formal meeting each year in the fall at which the agenda is set. Communication among the members is via email or phone. The group performs community service at the following events:
  • Christmas in April
  • Easter Egg Hunt
  • Let's Go Fly a Kite
  • Mayor's Concert Series
  • Movies in the Park
  • Township's Halloween Events
