Finding Injured or Young Wildlife

If you see injured or abandoned baby animals, do not touch them. Please see the New Jersey Fish and Wildlife website.

For more information regarding found wildlife you may contact the Division of Fish and Wildlife at 609-292-2965.

Pet Abandonment Is Illegal

Dog abandonment can lead to the pet's injury or death from motor vehicles or other animals. It also endangers the public and other pets in the form of animal bits and vehicle accidents.

Cat abandonment is cruel and can lead to the establishment of feral cat colonies. When abandoned, a domestic cat becomes feral (wild) and must hunt and kill for food. If you are feeding stray cats in your backyard or place of business, we ask that you trap them and have them neutered before they reproduce.

If you are a resident and are unable to keep your pet please call the Woodbridge Animal Shelter for information and assistance at 732-855-0600, ext. 5007.
