National Public Lands Day ‘Cleans-Up’ on Saturday

Join Woodbridge in celebrating National Public Lands Day on Saturday (Sept. 29).  National Public Lands Day is the nation's largest hands-on volunteer effort geared to clean-up and restore the natural beauty of public lands, parks, playgrounds and recreational areas.

Want to Help!!! We’re looking for hands-on volunteers to clean-up our parks, school grounds, playgrounds and public areas.  It's easy... contact Eileen Caggiano and the Woodbridge Department of Recreation at 732-596-4047 or eileen.caggiano@twp.woodbridge.nj.us

And that’s not all!!!  National Public Lands Day also serves as the kick-off for the annual “Ernie Oros Woodbridge River Celebration.”  The FREE festival and celebration gets underway at 11:00 AM at the Ernie Oros Wildlife Preserve in Avenel.  Guided Kayak & Canoe trips on the Woodbridge River.  Walking tour of the Butterfly Park at Pin Oak Forest.  Food & Beverages.  Live Music.  The Ernie Oros Wildlife Preserve is located off Omar Ave. between Rahway Ave. and Blair Road in Avenel.

BarronFest Art & Craft Festival Returns Oct. 13 

The BarronFest Arts & Crafts Festival returns to Parker Press Park on Sat., Oct. 13, 2018.  BarronFest - sponsored by the Woodbridge Township Cultural Arts Commission and the Barron Arts Center - features over 50 local artisans & crafters.  Stroll the BarronFest booths and craft areas from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.  Food and other refreshments are available for purchase as a fundraiser for the Woodbridge Township Cultural Arts Commission.

CALLING ALL BICYCLISTS... The 11th Annual Tour d’ Woodbridge bike tour rolls through town on Sunday (Sept. 30).  The recreational tour of Woodbridge - 30 or 15 mile tour - starts and finishes at The Club at Woodbridge (585 Main Street).  Registration: $25.00.   To Register:  www.raceroster.com/18981.  Tour Day Registration Opens at 7:00 AM.  Tour starts at 8:00 AM.  Still time to register.

Public Works Announces FREE Leaf Bag Distribution

The Fall ‘Bagged Leaf’ collection program is about to get underway!!!  Check out the Public Works schedule to find out where to pick-up FREE leaf bags.  To collect leaves more efficiently the Township requires that residents bag leaves in biodegradable paper leaf bags only – plastic bags cannot be used  The biodegradable paper leaf bags are designated for ‘Leaves Only’ and are to be used only while the leaf collection program is in effect.  The Township distributes paper leaf bags to residents FREE of charge and are available at the Public Works Recycling Center located on Smith Street in Keasbey.  Check the Township web page at www.twp.woodbridge.nj.us. or call the Recycling Hotline at 732-738-1311 x3049 for more information on the ‘bagged leaf’ collection program.
