National Public Lands Day ‘Cleans-Up’ on Saturday

Join Woodbridge in celebrating National Public Lands Day on Saturday (Sept. 29). National Public Lands Day is the nation's largest hands-on volunteer effort geared to clean-up and restore the natural beauty of public lands, parks, playgrounds and recreational areas.

National Public Lands Day also serves as the kick-off for the annual “Ernie Oros Woodbridge River Celebration.” The FREE festival and celebration gets underway at 11:00 AM at the Ernie Oros Wildlife Preserve in Avenel. Guided Kayak & Canoe trips on the Woodbridge River. Walking tour of the Butterfly Park at Pin Oak Forest. Food & Beverages. Live Music. The Ernie Oros Wildlife Preserve is located off Omar Ave. between Rahway Ave. and Blair Road in Avenel.

Barron Arts Center Presents: Woodbridge Poetry & Literary Festival

The Woodbridge Poetry Festival features readings by renowned authors and poets - Daniel J. Weeks. Julie Mahoney. Susanna Rich. Joe Weil & Emily Vogel. BarronFest Art & Craft Festival Returns Oct. 13

The BarronFest Arts & Crafts Festival returns to Parker Press Park on Sat., Oct. 13, 2018. BarronFest - sponsored by the Woodbridge Township Cultural Arts Commission and the Barron Arts Center - features over 50 local artisans & crafters. Stroll the BarronFest booths and craft areas from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Food and other refreshments are available for purchase as a fundraiser for the Woodbridge Township Cultural Arts Commission.

Let’s Go Fishing!!! Cast a Line on Saturday at the Frank Gagnon Memorial Fishing Derby

Grab your fishing gear and some bait and join the Recreation Department for some fishing fun!!! The annual Frank Gagnon Memorial Fishing Derby “casts-off” on Saturday (Sept. 29) from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at Heards Brook in Woodbridge Park (Gorham Ave. and North Park Drive in downtown Woodbridge.) Tour de Woodbridge Rides on Sunday

CALLING ALL BICYCLISTS... The 11^th Annual Tour d’ Woodbridge bike tour rolls through town on Sunday (Sept. 30). Public Works Announces FREE Leaf Bag Distribution

The Fall ‘Bagged Leaf’ collection program is about to get underway!!! Check out the Public Works schedule to find out where to pick-up FREE leaf bags. To collect leaves more efficiently the Township requires that residents bag leaves in biodegradable paper leaf bags only – plastic bags cannot be used The biodegradable paper leaf bags are designated for ‘Leaves Only’ and are to be used only while the leaf collection program is in effect. The Township distributes paper leaf bags to residents FREE of charge and are available at the Public Works Recycling Center located on Smith Street in Keasbey.
