WPL Celebrates 350th Sesquarcentennial Anniversary Open Call for Art: woodBRIDGE to ART: A 350th Anniversary Celebration
The Woodbridge Public Library (WPL), in collaboration with the Barron Arts Center, invites artistic voices to celebrate the Township’s 350th Sesquarcentennial Anniversary as part of an open, all-media exhibition: woodBRIDGE to ART: A 350th anniversary celebration. The open call aims to reflect and highlight the artistic voices in the community, to showcase the work of a wide array of ages, experience levels and mediums. In celebrating the history of our community, we are marking a moment in time, showing where artists are in the present. Works will be displayed at an opening reception, where prizes will be awarded for each category. Special prize categories include: Woodbridge residents, a 350th Anniversary Award, a Mayor’s Prize and Director’s Choice. The Awards Reception is scheduled for Fri., Dec. 14, 2018 at 6:30 pm, at the Main Library, 1 George Frederick Plaza, Woodbridge.
This is an open call for residents of New Jersey. Submissions, which are due by December 1st, are not limited to artists who have been exhibited in the past. All mediums are welcome. Works must have been completed by the artist within the last five years, and must be available for the duration of the run. Category winners may be asked to allow their works to be exhibited for additional time. Details will be available soon for a Children’s Art Show for the 350th Anniversary, to be held during the reception, as well. For more information, please visit woodbridgelibrary.org/artshow. Interested applicants may also contact the WPL Reference Desk, 723-634-4450, x7120, for assistance with entry.
