Virtual - Dealing with Grief and Other Emotional Challenges Through Meditation

Many people are turning to meditation to help cope with the intense and overwhelming emotions that we face in the world today. From the pain of grief from losing a loved one, to the pandemic, a difficult coworker, to an unexpected bill, to other life circumstances. Meditation can be a tool to help anyone deal with the stresses of life. Meditation helps the body and mind find peace and refuge in a time of great challenge and the benefits of practicing this can calm the emotions, release tension and anxiety in the body and aids in acceptance. There will be a chance to practice this meditation technique during this workshop. Please join Jim Rose, M. Ed Rutgers University long time meditator and learn a simple meditation technique that can be life changing.

The Home Energy Assistance Program helps very low-income residents with their heating and cooling bills, and makes provisions for emergency heating system services and emergency fuel assistance within the Home Energy Assistance Program. If you have questions about any of New Jersey’s energy assistance programs, or wish to apply, a representative from Elizabethtown Gas will be on site to assist.

For NJ LIHEAP bring proof of identity, residency, and low income (under 200% FPL for LIHEAP, specific bills for USF), with documents like Social Security cards, pay stubs (last 4 weeks), recent utility bills, lease/deed, and photo IDs for all household members, plus a completed application and potentially doctor's notes for cooling.

Blast Off with the Reading Rockets Book Club

This program is for new chapter book readers who want to read the same book with their friends. The Book Club will be lead  by Mrs. Sue, Children's Librarian. This is for beginning chapter book readers in Grades 1 -2 who would like to read a book together with their friends. The first book will be given out at the first meeting.
