Agency heads authorize any refunds made to borrowers who have paid for items and then returned them. The amount of a refund is determined by:
- The condition of a returned item, availability and edition of the title, whether the title has already been reordered, and other factors.
- The length of time a returned item is overdue upon its return date to the library; owed fines are deducted from a refund.
If fines owed exceed the cost of the item, no refund is due.
